Sliding Fee Scale

Why we use a sliding fee scale.

Treatment fees are based on what you can afford. We use a sliding fee scale of $25 - $55 per treatment.

We use this method of determining treatment fees because:

• Acupuncture works best with frequency and regularity
• A sliding scale makes it possible for a greater number of people to receive treatments on a regular basis
• We are committed to making acupuncture a viable preventative health service to individuals and communities
• We also believe communities can support each other. Fees paid on the continuum of the sliding scale make acupuncture possible for more people.

The sliding scale allows us to practice acupuncture as it is meant to be. The quality of our service remains the same. The more frequently people receive treatments, the more effective the treatment outcome. However, the sliding scale is not a "fast food" approach to acupuncture. It does not diminish the value of our service or the quality of acupuncture.

Six Degrees receives no public or private funding. We are acupuncturists who are dedicated to providing our services in a socially and financially inclusive way.

We believe the better you feel the more people you'll send our way.

How to decide what to pay.

The sliding fee scale is $25 - $55 / treatment.

Payment is based on what you can afford to pay on this scale.

We work on an honour system that does not require proof of your income. We trust that you will pay what you can afford. Treatment fees can change as your income changes.

When deciding what to pay consider the following:

• Budget for a long-term treatment plan. For example, consider how much you can afford to pay per treatment, if you need four treatments a month?
• Pay according to your net income.

The following is a guideline for payment. We realize annual net income does not always match financial realities.

$20,000 or less     -  $25-$30
$20,000 - $25,000 - $30-$35
$25,000 - $30,000 - $35-$40
$30,000 - $35,000 - $40-$45
$35,000 - $40,000 - $45-$50
$40,000 - $45,000 - $50-$55
$50,000 and above - $55

Multiple treatments sliding fee scale

$25-$55   for 1/week
$40-$110 for 2/week
$55-$165 for 3/week

• In addition to your treatment fee, a one-time $15 assessment fee is charged on your first visit.)
